Nominees must hold a full-time tenure-track academic appointment, between their fourth and twelfth years of appointment, and be engaged in research and teaching primarily with undergraduates.

  Proposals must be focused on youth between the ages of 5 of 25 in the United States and aim to improve understanding of programs, policies, and practices that reduce inequality in youth outcomes, as well as the use of research evidence in policy and practice. Applicant must have received their terminal degree within seven years of submitting their application.
