Endowing a Fund
You can establish a named endowed fund to recognize and honor friends, family members, colleagues and mentors, or to simply provide support for the university in perpetuity.
You can designate your named fund to provide support for Tulane in general or for any school, unit or program.
An endowed fund is a permanent fund from which only the endowment payout, calculated according to Tulane's spending policy, is spent. The fund's share of the endowment payout determines the amount of the annual award.
A minimum gift of $25,000 currently is required to establish a general endowed fund, and higher minimum donation amounts are required for specific purposes. For example, the minimum donation amounts currently required for Tulane endowed chairs and professorships generally are $1.5 million for a chair, $600,000 for a professorship for experienced faculty, and $300,000 for an early career professorship. Higher minimum donation amounts may be required for endowed chairs or professorships in particular disciplines. The minimum donation amount is $100,000 for undergraduate and graduate scholarships.
